N.K Swain's book IPRs and Contemporary Issues :Contexting Information Intermediaries is being released by Dr. Jagdish Arora, Director, INFLIBNET at Rajasthan Patrika Book Fair, 2009 on November 7.
Mr. Nirmal Kumar Swain was born and brought up in Puri of Orissa State. He masters in Philosophy (1993) and Library & Information science (1995), with 1st divisions from a Central University, North Eastern Hill University, Shillong. He added an M. Phil. degree from University of Delhi. 1st Prize in essay contest conducted by UNO State Committee, Meghalaya State, 1995; All India Indo-Kuwait Essay Competition prize, 1995-96, conducted by Embassy of Kuwait, New Delhi; 3rd Prize in I.C.P.R. (under 25), Essay Contest-cum-Young Scholars Meet, 1995, Lucknow, and a Consolation prize in essay contest conducted by Forum of Free Enterprise, Mumbai, 1996. Recently he received Gold Medal Certificate for the AVANTIKA Essay Contest, 2007. ILA, New Delhi; IASLIC, Calcutta; IATLIS, Hyderabad; Regional Secretary, IATLIS 2003-2005, 2006-2008. Best Paper Award for ‘Why Do Librarians Care about Intellectual Property Law?’ Co-edited 2 volumes 4 books in press. Completed a funded project. Working as a faculty with Dept of Library Science, Vani Mandir Building, Banasthali University, Rajasthan-304022.
