- Mr. Nirmal Kumar Swain was born and brought up in Puri of Orissa State. He masters in Philosophy (1993) and Library & Information science (1995), with 1st divisions from a Central University, North Eastern Hill University, Shillong. He added an M. Phil. degree from University of Delhi. 1st Prize in essay contest conducted by UNO State Committee, Meghalaya State, 1995; All India Indo-Kuwait Essay Competition prize, 1995-96, conducted by Embassy of Kuwait, New Delhi; 3rd Prize in I.C.P.R. (under 25), Essay Contest-cum-Young Scholars Meet, 1995, Lucknow, and a Consolation prize in essay contest conducted by Forum of Free Enterprise, Mumbai, 1996. Recently he received Gold Medal Certificate for the AVANTIKA Essay Contest, 2007. ILA, New Delhi; IASLIC, Calcutta; IATLIS, Hyderabad; Regional Secretary, IATLIS 2003-2005, 2006-2008. Best Paper Award for ‘Why Do Librarians Care about Intellectual Property Law?’ Co-edited 2 volumes 4 books in press. Completed a funded project. Working as a faculty with Dept of Library Science, Vani Mandir Building, Banasthali University, Rajasthan-304022.
